CUSTOMIZED EMBROIDERY PATCHES--Three Types of the Backing Iron On Custom Patches Adhering to different types of fabrics, garments, and clothing, custom iron on patches can be easily attached with a standard heated home iron.Containing desiccated adhesive coating at the back portion, these quality custom iron patches will stick to the clothing when heated. Sew On Custom Patches Our embroidered Custom Patches can easily be sewn on clothing, headwear, purses, and backpacks having the finished die cut borders. For personal and commercial promotional purposes, choose our flexible No Backing (Sew On) Patches that do not have any backing on them, so you can apply them on apparels and other types of fabrics by heat pressing or sewing them. Hook&Loop Custom Patches Mostly used for military ranking and achievement applications,Hook&Loop Patches are used for identifying certain positions or accomplishments. Generally known as morale patches. With their hook and loop designs, these patches allow you to attach, remove and reapply the emblems easily on the apparel. Merrow Border Die cut border Die cut borders are has the thread up the very edge of the patch and then the patch is cut using a hot knife. The resulting edge forms a very clean and crisp patch. Hot cut border is recommended for custom iron on patches with embroidery or those patches that are cut to shape around the design. Choose your border type Merrow border A Merrow border is when the thread wraps around the edge of the patch and forms what can be compared to piping. Merrowed is the most common type of border, merrowed borders are always 1/8" thick, regardless of overall patch size. Merrow border can only be used on patches with a standard shape such as a square, triangle, rectangle, circle, etc. A merrowed border is a special type of border which has the stitching wrapped around the edges of the patch. We recommend merrow border for most patches that are regular shaped, such as circles, triangles, rectangles, etc. A cut border is either die cut or laser heat cut, but to create the border effect, we add stitching on the front part of the patch by the edges.
